View Full Version : RV Storage in Summer

This summer, I have to leave my 5th wheel in an open-air storage for about 4 weeks in the South, where 100 degrees/100% humidity conditions are pretty frequent. I will have nobody to check on the unit, or turn the AC on. I am worried what that might do to textiles and furniture in the unit, like mildew/mold or other nasty things. Does anyone have experience with storing their RV like that? Is there anything I can do to prevent things getting moldy?
Thanks for helping.

A couple of buckets of "Damp Rid" should help. Keeping roof vents open a little (with vent covers of course) will help too. Covering sunny side (South facing) windows with the foil covered bubble-wrap will control heat also. Lots of "Snow-birds" store their trailers down South and very few have problems. Hope this helps, Hank
