Air Lift Loader 5000 Install

Well, I finally bought the Air bags I wanted. You know, the "No drilling" required ones.

I gave up after trying to jack up the truck and placing the jack stands underneath when the jack slipped. That was enough for me.

Anyone have a suggestion for someone that can install these?

I will not be attempting it again.

any mom and pop garage will do this, for enough money anyway. stay away from dealers. i am sure a local performance place will give you a good deal on it too. just look for the garage with jacked up trucks and lowerd cars, that is usually a good sign you will be in the right place.

I recently installed the air lift 5000 air bags on my 2002 Chevrolet Duramax. They installed really easy with basic hand tools. They are worth every penny. I only need to run about 25 pounds of air in them to handle all the weight.

Did you have to drill any holes into the frame? From what I saw, I need to drill three holes on each side to install. Something must be wrong if this is a no drilling system.

When I installed the Air Lifter's on my 07 GMC 2500, the only hole I had to drill was in the rear bumper for the air valve. Just curious, why did you have to jack up the truck? Did you remove a tire? On my installation, I used a bottle jack to raise the frame a inch or so to make it easier to install the air bag, no tires were removed (except the spare tire) .

Step 1. Raise the vehicle, remove the wheels and obtain normal ride height.

Just looked over the installation guide for your truck....yep, looks like you will have to do some drilling and will need the vehicle on a lift or jack stands....might be time for a professional.

I know this is a bit late in the game but....whenever I order parts online, I always look at the installation guide before ordering the parts...so I can decide if the job is more than I want to take on.

Find a local tire shop like Les Schwab to install them, or check with CW but I know they sell there own brand so they might not install but worth the 5 min phone call for sure. Good luck and remember to set the parking brake and block the tires on your truck when jacking it up and be sure the jack stands you are using will hold your trucks weight there heavy SOB. I have used the jack provided a few times in the woods and the truck is not very stable but when I use the floor jack no problems. Good luck and be safe!

Good to know about the jack provided and the use of the floor jack. This should be a simple job.
