roof vents question

I have a couple extra roof vents on a 2001 montana 2880 that I cant determine what they vent. The tank vents are easy enough, but I have 2 extra ones that are new to me. Both are in the centerline of the rig, one in the front and one in the rear. They are wider than the tank vents, about 4 - 5 inches wide.

Any guesses as to what they do?

They could be the attic vents.

Montana does advertise a vented attic.

Now the question is whether the attic is adequately insulated. I'm afraid to find out.

From my own investigations on the Alpine fiver, and I have not done anything in the roof (but clean the EPDM with Borax solution!), if Keystone says they have insulated the roof, then they probably have. For example, the Alpine is supposed to have the very high R rating for the floor, and (as you have probably read) in my "tank investigations/modifications) I have found some 8 to 10 inches of Styrofoam sandwiched between plywood that comprises the fiver's floor. Yup, that would be around R-40, easy! So, solely based on just guessing, if Keystone advertises that your Montana is a ventilated, insulated roof, then that is probably what you have with the R factor rating as advertised.

How hot does the inside ceiling get in the summer? Or cold in the winter? That would be while you are running the AC or furnace. Can you put your hand on the ceiling and notice a real temperature difference? Do you have an infrared digital thermometer to monitor your tires? If so, use it on the ceiling during the very hot or very cold days. That will give you some idea of the insulation and if it is "working".
