Hensley Arrow on Laredo 290TG or 303TG

Looking at buying a used Hensley Arrow, but have concerns about it fitting with the fiberglass front cap. Has anyone installed a Hensley hitch on a 290TG or 303TG? It looks like the jacks for the tension bars will interfere with the cover for the LP tanks.

You need to find out the distance down the rail it is from the middle of the coupler to the cover for the bottles. The standard hitch has the bracket position from the middle of the ball to the front of the bracket at 25-1/2" plus or minus 1/2". The bracket itself if I remember correctley is a little over 10" long but I can double check the measurement when I go to the trailer today. Therfore you would need a lenght of 35-1/2" to have room for the standard bracket. Hensley also makes a cain type lift for the WD bars and talk to Terry at Hensley and he can tell you that distrance. They also sell remanufactured Hensley Arrows when they have them. That is what I bought and works just as good as new and they give you a new warranty with it.

The bracket is 9-1/2" long for you info so that means you would need 34-1/2" minimum for the standard hitch and also remember that you also need to allow for the standard adjustable struts for the WD bars.

You can also look at the ProPride hitch which us an update of the Hensley Arrow to see if theirs will fit. Even though they are diffent companies, both hitches were designed by Hensley himself.

No matter which one you have to go with, you will love the hitch. Words would not describe how well my trailer tows and never having to worry about trailer sway again.

I passed on the used Hensley. I measured the tongue on my 290TG and there is only about 33-1/2" from the center of the ball to the fiberglass cap. I was also worried that the jacks would hit the fiberglass cap. Thanks for the info though and make it almost impossible to get to the LP tanks.

Their was an advertisement on CRAIGS LIST in Sarasota, FL for a Hensley used only for two trips priced at:thumbsup: $1250.00. It was posted just a few days ago, so a search could find it for those interested. It's posted under RV's.

I would also be worried about the clearence issue. The only solution to the Hensley is the unit designed for the new V front TT where it dosen't use the struts for the WD bars. If the factory has any used units, they can supply with the alternate system and it is less money. Just a thought if you wanted to stay with the Hensley.
