I have a 2005 Montana 3500RL I was flushing my black water tank and the valve was closed and pop; sewage water flooded from the bottom of my 5th wheel. Where is my black water tank located and how do I remove it if I have to replace it?:
confused:
I am kind of freaking out. Please help me if you can.
Thanks Mel

Your black water holding tank should be located in very close proximity (or directly below)to your toilet. If you remove or lower a portion of the black plastic underbelly (Coroplast material) in that area, you should be able to spot it. Not sure about your Montana but when flushing out the black water tank in our '08 Cougar, the black water drain valve has to be in the open position - not left closed. You might try a very light flush again to see if leaving the valve open makes any difference.

So I have to asked what made the pop? It almost sounds like you mave have overfilled the black tank and exploded it. How long did you have the water running?

I have heard of this happening in Montana's when we to delivery of ours they were very adamant about making sure the valve was left open when using the black water flush. Make sure there was no overflow that spilled on the top of the trailer that you may have missed.

If this is the case then you will need to do what Festus2 recomended. Good luck keep us up to date. I hope just a pipe broke and not the tank itself.

Thank you for the quick replies and the heads up on where the tank should be located. I will let you two know how it works out. :/

Sounds as if either the vent pipe broke loose from the tank or the commode drain line came apart. Hopefully, the tank didn't split. Did you buy it new or used? Maybe the tank was already split once before and repaired?

Please let us know what you find. Good luckand hope it something easy to fix.
