Greetings all,
My wife and I are avid campers from the U.P. of Michigan. We camp about 30-40 days a year and have been out west 3 times in the past 4 years, even while working full time. We just sold our 2014 Salem Hemisphere and purchased a 2021 Outback 330RL and are loving it so far!! We are pulling it with a 2018 Ford F-150 with the ecoboost engine....no problems. Still getting used to the new features on the 330RL and love the auto leveling system! Was hoping the In-command system was on this unit but its all good.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you are enjoying you camper. Don't be too upset about the In-Command, we have it, and I could take it or leave it as it has it's up's and down's. We will be staying in Manistique during Labor Day, Gerometta's, I think.

Welcome to the forum. If the specs I found on that camper is correct, Then I'd urge you to look at the yellow and white door plate that has the tire inflation guide and the words "The combined weight of all occupants and cargo shall not exceed xxx lbs". That's your carrying capacity and based on the numbers I copied and pasted below your hitch weight (using 13%) when fully loaded (dry weight + cargo weight) 10,500 X .13 = 1,365 lbs. Add the weight of a weight distributing hitch (about 100-120 lbs) and your placing close to 1,500 lbs on the truck hitch. Take a look at the sticker on the hitch for it's rating as well.

Weights aside, strapping a 38 foot box onto the back of a 1/2 ton truck is asking for handling issues in windy or emergency manuver conditions.

2021 330RL Specifications
Slides 3
Length 37 ft 10 in
Ext Height 11 ft 4 in
Hitch Weight 1100 lbs
Dry Weight 8839 lbs
Cargo Weight 1661 lbs

Congrats and welcome. That’s a lot of trailer for an F150! We were just up your way in July (Indian Lake SP), on our way up to the Keweenah.
