Traded my 2017 F250, 6.7 Diesel for a F350, DRW, 6.7 Diesel. The 250 XLT had a payload of 2,228 lbs and I was often close to that packing equipment and friends. My new 350 has a payload of 5,436 lbs. Hopefully I'll never get close to that.....unless the DW chooses to upgrade the camper as well!

I've learned a lot about campers and towing from the members of this Forum and I want to thank all of you. Special thanks to the Site Team for the hours of support and constant patience to help those in need.

Don't even THINK about the old "Baby, let's just stop, take a break, and look around to stretch our legs" for at least two years! And don't ask how I know. (Great color, by the way)

As stated before congratulations on the new truck, just a question.

I am assuming that that is a 2019 or 2020 F350 DRW, it must be a totally loaded unit as you state a payload of 5,436#, I thought the newer all aluminum bodies were closer to 6,000# for even a loaded unit. Our 2016 Ram Laramie 3500 DRW has a sticker payload of 5,411# which is only 25# less then your F350.

Sure, dually's abound weighing less than 8000 pounds...they are simply all over. Uh huh.

It's a 2020 XLT. Here is the door sticker. Not sure why it is "low" but I'm happy.

That payload is likely more than double of the F250 you replaced.

Just wondering how well it tows up hills? Does it slow down at all?

Your going to love your new truck. We traded our 2017 F250 for a 2019 F350 dually and found that the ride and gas mileage to be close to the F250. Pulling 16k thru the mountains is an easy task for 6.7 diesel. Your payload is 44# more than ours.

From what I understand most of the weight they saved by using aluminum was put back into the truck in bigger brakes etc., so the weight savings aren't really reflected in the payload numbers....my 2017 F350 is a Lariat with every option and my payload is 5,318

The simple answer with the OP’s signature TT would be NO!
Even towing 13,000+ with our 2016 Ram, we don’t slow down.

Yes it is. F250 was 2228 lbs.

Haven't hooked it up yet, but the F250 would cruise up and down these WV hills with the cruise set at 65 and never slow a bit. I expect the same performance with this truck.
