i am predently at a park with cable. I am able to tune the digital channels with a cable scan but i am not getting analog channels. I am plugged into the CATV plug in the wet bay. Any ideas on how to tune for the analog channels?

Analog television signals ended in June of 2009 when the federal government mandated digital broadcasts only.

See you learn something everyday. I wonder why they still list them on their paperwork. Thay have had to do a reprint since then.

Thanks

Not sure what paperwork you're referencing, television manual? When the FCC did the phase out of analog broadcasting there were both digital and analog channels being broadcast so TV manufacturers made the tuners capable of receiving both. There really isn't any cost benefit to eliminate it.

I'm not sure but I think some cable companies still use analog signals to provide "basic cable" over the low VHF channels. As the signal is transmitted over the cable and not over the air it's not controlled by the digital OTA transition.

Most cable systems in campgrounds are analog but are changing to digital. You should be able to get both. I don't know why you would get digital but not analog.

We had to replace our tv because we only got analog and not digital cable. Our older tv had a digital ota tuner but it had an analog only cable tuner. That seems to be the opposite of your issue.

Could be as simple as the campground running entirely digital and not using the analog channels.

The paperwork for the park, they list both digital and analog channels. If I stay tomorrow I will disconnect the cable and do an OTA scan and see what happens.

If you want to watch over the air TV, you have to disconnect the cable from the input for the cable TV. I read that today in the trouble shooter.
