No idea on what size generator to buy

Looking to get a generator for the tt but have no idea what size or brand(if any are better then others).

Size depends on what your needs are. No A/C, maybe 1000W. A/C bumps it up to 3500W. Make sure you get an “inverter” gen as the power produced is more steady and “clean” meaning electronics friendly.

I would stay away from the construction site type as they can be very loud. I have a 3500W Kipor rated about the same noise as the Honda.

That's like asking "what shoes should I buy", I don't know the size, what you going to use them for, etc., etc.

Most folks place a line on their signature with the year, make and model of trailer and truck. This helps by eliminating the first questions and back of forth to get that info.

As for generator, if you share what your desires are (run everything, just charge the battery, run the microwave only, etc.) and what trailer do you have with size and number of air conditioners, number and capacity of batteries, etc.

The more information you can provide the more accurate and concise the feedback will follow.

Found a few online that are dual fuel. Are they worth considering?

We have a 2020 outback 340bh. Be able to run single AC, fridge, furnace, lights.

Furnace fan and lights are on your 12 volt DC system. So, you will be running those from your battery power. The generator will be charging your batteries and providing 110 volt AC power for your air conditioner and other 110v appliances. A 3,000/3500 watt inverter type generator should provide enough power to run the A/C but not the A/C and say the microwave or other high wattage appliance at the same time. We have a 3,000 watt generator that runs our A/C. When the A/C is on we just don't use the other high power draw appliances. It does not affect the lights or stereo etc.

If you have the RV fridge, not a residential, you can run it & the water heater on LP as long as the batteries are charged for the controls, the generator will provide battery charging.
You'll need to realize the bigger the generator the heavier it will be to lift & move around plus subtract that weight along with extra fuel from available truck payload if that's a concern.

I went with two Honda generators, S2000 and companion S2000i. Mainly because they weigh 49lbs each, so easy to move around. Produce I believe 3800w ran in parallel with accessory cord. Not cheap at 2k for the pair, but they will last for ever. Some newer single 4k generators do have remote start and turn off which is nice, not having to get out of trailer to turn off/on. If your going to leave it in an open p/u bed and have help lifting it then I would consider one of them.
