My daughter and SIL just purchased a toyhauler and went for a maiden voyage. Not a Keystone, but I don't believe Keystone makes the doors anyway.

Their huge German Shepherd tore the inner entry screen door apart. Not just the screen material (thats easy), but the cross bars and latch mechanism. The outer frame is still intact. Is there somewhere to buy the center bars and latch assembly? Or are we looking at a whole new door?
Thanks!

The screen and latch are easy replacements. I don't know what "cross bar" your referencing. A picture would help.

Are they looking for a new dog now?

Thanks Flybuoy,
Sorry I don't have a pic handy. There are 2 aluminum cross bars or frame members that the screen attaches to- upper and lower, these also are what the fixed and sliding plastic panels ride in and where the latch assembly resides. I replaced my plastic panels with the clear ones for better view.
That dog has cost them a lot of money but they wont be replacing it any time soon haha.

I would first check with any RV service centers in that area. Many will change out doors that are damaged, won't close properly or are the incorrect size. You may find a service center with a couple of the center cross bars sitting in a junk pile. I don't know of any place that sells "screen door parts" to the general public.

Thanks John,
I may be fabricating something if we can't find the parts locally.

The cross members that your references are not replaceable to my knowledge. I'd take a look on Treckwood.com but I don't think the screen door is replaceable by itself either. Most likely the entire door assembly will have to be replaced. Ouch!

Thanks all,
I will call around locally for a scrap door or try to fab something.

Check your local glass shop, might get lucky & will definitely be cheaper than Trekwood (their shipping fees are outrageous).

We put a Camco dog door screen on our screen door and it keeps out peek-a-poo and chihuahua from scratching through the screen. When my sis and bro-in-law came to visit and stayed in their RV for about 5 weeks at our place he was impressed with the Camco screen and bought one. They have two beagles and a little ankle biter and the beagles went through the mesh on the screen first day and wasted almost $50. Camper screen doors and big dogs just might have issues! You might have to learn how to fix that screen door more than once.

Thanks all,
After re-surveying the damage, I think we can save it. We will be adding the metal mesh to the door after re-screening as well.

A friend screened the lower portion of his screen door with one of those as-seen-on-tv screens that split down the middle with magnetic holders. His old, well behaved dog can come and go through the screen and it closes right back up behind him. Brilliant!
