Just returned from spending a couple of nights at Poverty Point State Park, outside of Delhi, LA. Nice park, beautiful reservoir there. Went up to Poverty Point World Heritage Site. It is fascinating. One of the oldest sites of human habitation in the world. It is believed that it was constructed some 3000 years ago and no one really knows why. You can walk through it or drive through it. The climb to the top of the tallest mound isn't too difficult.

Put it on your list if you are driving through northeast Louisiana.

We have stayed at Poverty Point but never been to the heritage site. Might have to give it a try. Beautiful camp sites.

Great! My wife's family is from near there. We've been saying for years we need to go to Poverty Point and do some family research near there.
