Samsung refrigerator turns on, but does not cool down in either fridge or freezer?

Welcome to the forum!!

Does the refer compressor run? You know the refer is turned on because the light inside comes on? You have set the temps?

Just asking so we can rule out obvious issues.

I do not hear compressor running, All lights are on and set controls on top inside of fridge to recommended temps and it doesn't cool. It sits on a seasonal site and has been like this since delivery.

I remember reading somewhere that there's a "operation/display" switch located on the roof of the refrigerator section. If I'm remembering correctly, that switch allows the refrigerator to be on display in the store with the lights working but the compressor not powered on. Locate that switch, turn it to operation and I think you'll hear the compressor start.

This may not be the sequence for your model, but on some, you need to push the POWER button and the FREEZER button at the same time, hold them in for 3-5 seconds and the refrigerator power will come back on in the "operation" mode.

Thanks John, I'll look but I don't remember seeing anything when I was there on top. The dealership had it for 4 months for assorted reasons, delivered back to seasonal site, and it has the same exact issue as when it left.

If you can't find the sequence to get it out of DISPLAY and into OPERATION, post the model number and I'll try to look it up for you. It's a "switch problem" and if I worked at that dealership, I'd be embarrassed not to know how to turn it on for a customer...

2019 Samsung residential fridge is in "display" mode. Hold "freezer" button and "power freeze" button at the same time. When you hear a chime, you have turned it to "On".

Give it a few seconds and you will hear the compressor start.

There are multiple places on the internet where you can down load the user manual for your fridge. Here's one, scroll down, click the download link on the right side, and save to your computer for future reference. Click here (https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/model/RF18HFENBSR/AC/)

Once you get it turned on, when the ice symbol is lit, the ice maker is actually off. Backwards, I know.

Here's the link to the manual: https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201904/20190418143325026/NW2-FDR_DA68-01845C-26_EN_MES.pdf

The "DISPLAY/OPERATE" function is described at the top of page 29.

"In Cooling Off Mode, the refrigerator works but doesn’t make cool air. To cancel this mode, press the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds until a “Ding-dong” sound is heard. The unit will now cool."

That function actually works. Ours was fired up and cooling when we did our PDI. Went to pick it up and took it home. Fridge would not work. Read the book and turned it on and voila! it got cold. Called the dealer and sure enough they had put it back in demo mode after checking it all out.

RV is not in demo mode , this model indicates demo mode with the flashing code OF. After resettling yesterday, temp started dropping on display. During night display started flashing and now not cooling again.

Unless you want to pick up the tab for a refrigerator repair/replacement, it's time to get the dealership involved. If you start "doing fixes" you may void your warranty. It can get real expensive real fast if there aren't any appliance repairmen that will work on it INSIDE your RV. That means pulling it out through the RV door, which involved disconnecting and unsecuring the refrigerator from the wall, removing the doors, taking it outside, reinstalling the doors and then reversing that order when the repairman is finished....

Call the dealership, find out what they want to do and when...
