Fridge drain

I drawing a blank on the brand of fridge, I think dometic. The big double door unit. Anyways, the white drain hose, is it supposed to go into a tray or something or stink out the exterior cover like the corrugated ones on other units? I have no problem sticking it out, but I seem to recall somewhere I saw a picture with one that had an evaporation tray.

Dometic uses the corregated tube that either sticks out past the access panel or clips onto the panel frame.

Norcold uses a small tube that drains into a pan.

Yup!! It’s mounted on the rear wall just above the tube going to the stack. Idea is the heat from the ammonia will evaporate any condensation. Wonder if was missing or the dealer “borrowed” it for another unit. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a Norcold come from the factory without it.

This is the back side of the Norcold 4-door unit. It is intended to stick out the access door. In my hand is the anti bug device in the end of the white tube, it plugs up easily, keep it and the line to the catch pan flowing freely.

I have not seen that drain tube sticking out of the access panel on any Norcold unit I have encountered. Is that something new to norcolds?

Yeah, that's how it'll be. I don't see anywhere a tray would have been.

Yes, a tray in the fridge to collect the drippings and a pan on the back of the unit on my 427 (Dometic, I think - but residential). The tube drains into a pan on the back and not outside. Have not had any problems with it as yet, except the factory did not secure it to the interior pan and we had condensation water collecting in the bottom of the fridge instead of draining outside. I secured it with a cable tie. Not sure if it will hold or not, may put a stainless steel screw through it next time.

If it's a Dometic it's not a residential fridge. Plus if it's residential it won't have outside access unless the original RV fridge was replaced with a residential.
My Norcold had the tube pictured in a small black plastic tray on the back of the unit, while my previous RV had a Dometic with the corogatred tube through the bottom cover.

I know our Norcold 2118 has a catch pan behind the vent panel. We Typically use it in Florida with very high humidity, this created a situation where the end of the drain tube would plug up and back up condensate water, witch freezes, and overflows in the refrigeration section. I found a you tube video suggesting to route it to the outside. It works for us, for many reasons, we have yet to find any downside to it draining on the lawn.

Later this afternoon I will submit a photo of the actual drain pan.

I got tired of the drain sticking out the side of the tt. So I ran a pipe down inside the refrigerator area to exit under the Tt.

Ditto I had the same problem with mine. It came with a pan it now has a tube sticking out of the vent. No more problems its been trouble free for 4 years.

Ive run mine through the cover to outside. Our fuzion has a pan on the back of the fridge, but its still going outside. After all the leakage in our old jayco im not taking any chances.
