I have a 2018 Dutchmen Atlas 5th wheel, My recent trip ending with the pipe on my grey tank 1 detaching from the the tank. I took it to one of the local Keystone service centers. They are telling me the seals on the valve are trash and that is the reason for the leak. They could not explain why the Pipe detached from the tank. They are recommending replacing the valve.
Parts and Labor would be about $650 dollars if Warranty does not cover it...
I know I'm out of the standard 1 yr warranty but for a 2 yr old camper I feel this is a faulty install on the valve/pipe.
Has anyone dealt with issues like this? Anyone have any luck on working with the Manufacturer?

It looks like you have a big part of the job completed that would be access to the pipe and valve. Is that silicone grouped on the pipe around the valve?

its some sort of plumbers putty.... the black tank has the same thing. The black ring that inserts into the tank is less than 1/8 inch. Dont know how that can hold the pipe in there...

It looks like you have the exact same issue I had this last fall. I ended up doing a pretty good temporary repair with a flexible coupling from Home Depot. It took me a few tries to get the right size and I can't remember off the top of my head what the two sizes were (each side was different). If you measure the OD of both sides, you should be able to find it.

This summer I'm going to revisit my repair and try to fix it according to one of the suggestions I got. Here's a link to that thread.

Well, I had a update from the service center. Warranty is covering the valve and service, upon doing the work the tech found a piece from the tank inside the valve... so the tank now needs to be replaced. Waiting to see if warranty will cover this....

Keystone has a long history of cutting the toilet flange fitting hole (3" round hole) and letting the disc fall into the tank. Did you ask what size/shape the plastic piece the tech found??? It may be a shard from a split/shattered tank from "tank failure" or it could be the waste that Keystone didn't remove when they built your trailer.... Knowing the shape of that piece could mean the difference between "assembly line mistake" and "tank failure" and could mean the difference in "who pays for the repair"....

If the plastic he found is "round and not supposed to be there" just removing it could be the complete repair needed on the tank while if it's a "shard from the tank failure" then that's a different story and who knows if Keystone will approve the tank replacement....

Do you know what the plastic he found looks like ????
