One year while traveling east to west on US2 we decided to stop for a week at Minot, ND. We were traveling with long time Navy friends who were also full time RVing and we often did long trips together. Anyhow, we had originally planned at staying at the Minot AFB Campground until we found out they did not have sewer hook-ups. Nice parking out there but just W&E sites. We had spent a few nights at the Grand Forks AFB CG and called a number of Minot CGs until we found one that could park our rigs close together. Our friend’s trailer was a 35’ Montana and of course ours was a 38’ Everest. The Roughrider CG said they could get us into a couple of FHU pull thru sites on the same row. It was over the 4th of July weekend so we felt pretty lucky that we could find any sites at all.

The Roughrider was a new experience for both of us. Most of Its major sites had side-by-side hook-ups. Meaning two sites side by side used the same hook-up connections area and pulled in from different directions. In the link below you can look at the park map and see that site #106 (our site) shared hook-ups with site #107 and the arrows show the direction the RV must use when parking. Our friends were in site #111.

As it turned-out, the CG was very well maintained and delivered fire wood on request. The washroom/toilet areas were very clean and the washer dryer area was quite large, clean and warm at night. Firewood in July? Yup, when the sun goes down up there in ND the temp drops quickly.
