Any price? I want one, and with my moderator wages I just might be able to afford it.

At a buck per post I think you can go directly into a Snap-on chest.:D

A buck per post ???? Who gets a buck per post ???? I'll leave whether I'm getting more or less than "A buck per post" to your imagination :whistling:

Looked at one of these last weekend at Harbor Freight. Seemed like a pretty decent box for the money. They are supposed to compete with Snap-on and Mac. Not sure they are quite the same quality but sure seemed pretty well built to me. You get alot of box for a third of the price of a Snap-on

My daughter works for the parent company of Snap-On, she gets a very nice discount on tools, etc. Still too spendy for my wallet. ;)

Ranchand, I'm going to guess you never made a living with your hand tools?
"They are supposed to compete with Snap-on and Mac. Not sure they are quite the same quality but sure seemed pretty well built to me." Remember, this is Harbor Tools. Same as putting a Honda Ridgeline in with the big three.

In some states you could tow that behind your trailer, too.

I do make a living with hand tools. I farm for a living and spend more time fixing other peoples mistakes then I do riding around in a tractor. If I am not working out of my service truck I am in the shop working out of my Snap-on box. Not sure I am trying to sell ICON toolboxes here I just thought it was a decent box for the money and my quote about competing with snap on was something I read on harbor freights website. Not everyone can afford a $15000 rolling chest off of the tool truck. Sorry if I offended anyone about saying the quality seemed decent.

Its a tool box, not an armored truck. Looks good enough for what most of us would use one for. Leaves money in your pocket for adult beverages.

Could a person buy Snap-on emblems separately. Just saying.:nonono::hide:

I'm not the one offended, Farmhand. And I'm not the one who wasn't sure if Harbor Freight was equal to Snap-On. I just had a comment....just sayin'.

I make a living with my hand tools. 95% of my tools are from harbor freight. I’m at work so here’s my “work” box(s). I do have a 20 year old craftsman roll-away at home full of Harbor freight tools.

I have a ton of HF tools & IMHO in the past few years the quality has improved. Also it's a much better warranty than Craftsman, if it breaks, bends or quits take in they'll replace it.

Would agree. Many years ago I stumbled into a HF while out of town (they didn't have any in MD then) and looked around. I thought the majority of the tools were "junk". I bought some electrical tape and zip ties. They were junk and I threw them out.

Move forward and a couple of years ago and they built one a couple of miles away. I'd have to say the quality has improved, at least with the tools. Some stuff is still "dollar store" quality.

Like Danny, over the years I have accumulated quite a few HF tools to go with the other brands. Many years ago they were 2nd rate; sockets/box ends wouldn't even fit the size they were supposed to accurately. Now, they seemed to have upped their game and I use them for all kinds of stuff. For the price they are hard to beat; the name brands pricing has skyrocketed (from already too high prices) making the HF tools a pretty good bargain - for some things. JMO

There are several styles of 1/4" drive APEX bit holders that range from slip in, magnetic and "spring collar" types. In the Air Force, we had a "slip collar type" that would actively hold the APEX bit, but release it when "wiggled free". I'd been looking for some since the one I had "self destructed after 30 years". I had been carrying the broken one around in my pocket for 6 months or so, so I could show people in a hardware store or auto store what I was looking for. Nobody had them. I finally saw the Snap-On truck parked at a car dealership, I showed him the bit holder, he had 2 on his truck, I bought both for $24 each....

My next trip to Harbor Freight, I was "wasting time while DW was in Sears, next door" and happened to find myself "standing in front of the socket sets and accessories. I started looking for bit holders, expecting to find nothing, but there they were, hanging on a rack, 2 to a blister pack, for $1.99. The may not be "Snap-On quality" but for 2 bucks over 50 bucks, for me, they work just as good, hold the bit until I "wiggle it free" and if I lose one, I don't feel the need to "search high and low until I find it".... (yeah, I'm cheap enough to spend all day looking for a $25 bit holder)…..

So how much $ do you make with your box? My guess is none, the tools in it are where that happens.

Harbor Freight works fine here.

Those side lockers are practically big enough for a freshman!

There are happy surprises to be found at HF. They sell a circuit-breaker-locating tool that actually works more reliably than the only competitive product I've found, for comparative peanuts.

Then again, I once bought a roll of "heat shrink tape" from them, only to find when I got it home that there was no adhesive at all, just slippery ribbon that I never figured out how to make work. And you really have to love the scent of Chinese rubber to shop there.

Looked the over as well, but decided on the ol' Home Depot box with a wooden work top for 1/2 the cost, and they ship it to the local store for FREE! The HD (lol) box will not hold as much weight as the HF.....or will it? Didn't plan to put 4 tons of steel in the thing anyway
