We are planning our first trip from New Jersey to Florida. Any route recommendations and places to stay would be appreciated. Hope to find Full Hook - Up, Pull Thru Sites for our first time out.

Has anyone traveled the Garden State Parkway south to Cape May and taken the Cape May - Lewes Ferry over to Delaware? Concerned about our height of 12'6".

Many thanks!

The ferry can take anything under 13'6". It's a little pricey (fare is determined on length) and it will take time. Not only is the ferry slow but so is boarding/departing when it's busy in season.

I've done that 95 corridor so many times (only a few of them with an RV) that when we did DC to Tampa last October, I turned inland off the interstate system, through Charlottesville and Charlotte, just for the novelty. Found some nice campgrounds on that route, including one we now refer to as "Dog Disneyland." But it depends on whether you have some extra time to spend enjoying your trip.

If you want to stay on 95 and aren't yet sick to death of the interminable "South of the Border" billboards, there are a couple campgrounds we really enjoyed and returned to a few times. One is Little Pee Dee State Park in SC, scenic, clean, and quiet. Another is Lake Harmony Campground in Townsend, GA.

[Edit: Little Pee Dee is in SC, not DC!]
