Sounds like a hydraulic problem or leak. Since it's new, better get it back to the dealer for warranty work. Welcome to the forum, Hank
I think Avalanche has hydraulic slides ??????? Not sure

Avalanche does have hydraulic slides. Look into the compartment where the hydraulic pump is and check for any leaks or if any of the valves for manual override have opened a little. The Avalanche I looked at the pump was in the same compartment as the battery, on the entrance side of the unit.
