Does anyone have experience with this monitor. I just had an expensive roof repair due to a low limb. This monitor looks promising but cannot find out much about it.
Thanks

Most of the "overhead damage" that I've seen reported has not been from hitting bridge abutments, overpasses or large overhead obstacles. It's been from small tree branches scraping and cutting the RV roof or from wires that were hanging lower than expected.

I don't know that the Giraffe G-4 (or any other system) would detect those "small, thin, reduced "sonic echo" obstacles. While the system might work OK, it's limited to a max speed of 30 MPH, and measures the height directly over the system receiver (mounted on the hood of the tow vehicle), so it won't protect you while towing on the highway and even if it did read accurately at 50 or 60 MPH, your reaction time to stop the vehicle before the trailer (20' behind the G-4 receiver) would negate any protection....

It's designed to be effective in campgrounds, going under gas station canopies, or such and at "walking speed or slower". Typically, most RV'ers don't find themselves in those situations, and those that do (and have their head "out of the cockpit") probably wouldn't find the benefit of the system would justify the expense of the system.... JMHO, other's will likely have different opinions....
