I have used short ~1" wall anchors like you would use in your home to hang pictures with good success.

I don’t know if this will apply to your situation. I had the screw come out of my main window shade. They had missed the wall stud by about a half of an inch at the factory. I was able to relocate the screw into the stud. My trailer has wood studs so it’s easy to screw into. It’s easy to find the studs if you look closely at the wall panels, you can see the line of staples they used to attach it.

Just went through this fix. Break some toothpicks in half, coat them in wood glue and stuff them in the hole. After the glue dries the screws will fit tight again.

I use bamboo skewers. Cut it just below the wall surface. Re install screw.

x2 on bamboo. I've used that and toothpicks and the bamboo seems to hold better for me. I think it's because the bamboo has longer "fibers".

I have used a old fishing rod it is tapered so you can get any size you need also it is fiberglass so it will hold up very well

I have used wood dowels. get a 1/8 dowel drill out the hole to fit the dowel and glue it up and stick the dowel in the hole let it dry. Now you have a solid piece of wood in the hole. Don't forget to drill a pilot hole for the screw.

Just another suggestion. In a "pinch" I used a golf tee on a friends camper (he didn't have any toothpicks or wood skewers).

We have 2 windows where the screws that hold the shade to the wall have pulled out. While you can push the screws back into the holes, they will not stay. What can we put in the holes to allow us to screw the screws in where they will stay--would wood filler work? Thanks for any suggestions!

I bet the holes are stripped out. Sometimes I get lucky inserting a bamboo skewer in the hole. If that doesn’t work I just move the screw and let the string holder cover the original holes.

I’ve used Wall-Dog screw anchors and they hold very well. We have a problem with the window valance side panels that cover up the left and right hand edges of the window blinds. The screw that attaches the bottom of the valance to the wall seems to be susceptible to pulling out. Probably those roads in the Yukon and Alaska :) At any rate the Wall-Dogs have held up very well. You can find them at most any hardware store.

google "hollow wall anchor". Also, 'toggle bolts' may be your best bet in this situation.

I too had a problem with a shade anchor coming out. Very frustrating. I opted to put in one of those screw-in plastic anchors. You can get various sizes. Fortunately, the hole was not too large and the anchor fit nicely. Simply put another screw in and it has held quite well.
