Dometic Thermostat not working right Cougar 2018 RES25

Our Dometic thermostat hasn't worked right since our 2018 Cougar RES25 5th wheel was new. It switches from Fahrenheit to Celsius when we try to change the temperature with the up/down buttons and has started resetting itself to 40 degrees after it is running. We would like to replace it with something that works better. The current one has heat and ac mode, up and down buttons, and the temperature display between. Has anyone else replaced one? What kind did you use? Any tips?

I have the same unit. Dometic advised me that they had a "bad batch" of thermostats in 2018. The OEM unit in mine failed in 2018 and I bought 2 new ones at an RV parts dept. Both failed so I bought another one. After discussing with Dometic they sent me a new one free of charge.

The problem is the face plate. The "capacitive touch" pads malfunction causing the unit to do all kinds of stuff. I had them send me a complete new unit and it fixed it. I could do nothing to the old ones to make the little touch pads under the faceplate work correctly. I would call them and have them send you a new one.

Forgot to add that the lady I spoke to at Dometic was Shawn if I recall.

Edit: OP if you are in a pinch right now just pop the cover off the thermostat and use your fingers on the metal posts that are under the indicators on the cover and see if that won't get you by.

Also, there is no upgrade for that thermostat per Dometic. It is the "upgraded" one.....:(
