Good afternoon. My name is Paul and my wife is Cindy. We're moving up from a 2005 Forest River Surveyor, 23ft. We've had many fun trips in the old girl but she had no comfortable place to sit. So we're moving up a notch.

We just bought a new to us 2013 Bullet 217RBS. Looking forward to new adventures. A couple of questions if I may. We're buying her from a Forest River dealer and have not yet had a walk-thru yet. So, where is the water pump located, is there a water filter inside the RV, do you drain the water tank via the low point drain and how do I access the HWH by-pass valve. I'm sure there will be many more question as I get to know her.
Thanks in advance, Paul

Welcome to the forum!

I don’t know the answer to your questions but I’m sure others will chime in or you can post your questions in their own threads and you may get a larger response.

Good luck with your new trailer!

Since you haven't had the walk through yet, make sure to have the dealer cover all of that with you. It is expected they show you all of that. There is a PDI checklist out there that you should take with you. Expect to spend 2-4 hrs doing that walk through.

Welcome to the forum!

The water pump is usually located in a cabinet on the other side of the water inlet on the side of the camper. Mine is located right next to the bed, but yours might be different.

On a 217RBS, I would doubt you have an onboard water filter from the factory, but a past owner may have added one. We just use a Camco water filter on the inlet hose outside.

Yes, use your low point drain the drain the water tank. You should have there low point drains, 1) fresh tank 2) cold water line 3) hot water line.

Look for a removable panel on the backside of where the hot water tank is located for the by-pass valve.

Easiest way is to make sure you ask the dealer to show you where they are and how to access them.

Find answers to ALL your questions BEFORE signing on the dotted line, afterwards they could care less.

Thanks for all of your help, but I've got one more question :-)
I also belong to the Forest River owners form and I get, via my e-mail address. a daily update of questions and suggestions. Does this form act the same way because this thread is all I have received. Thanks again.
Paul

Remember, this is not a rehearsal.

I get a weekly "News Letter" (email) that highlights several of the topics that have had activity, and frequent emails if someone posts to a topic that I have participated in.
