I have a 2011 Sprinter travel trailer.
Replacing black and gray dump valves connected by the wye.
Pryed it out the two valve/wye assembly. The connection on each tank gave a little (in) doing so.
To reinstall, I don't want be that hard on the tank flanges.
Anyone have any tips to spread apart (1/2 inch) the tanks to reconnect the valve assembly?
Thanks!
Pat

It’s a very tight fit and that’s normal. Put some axle grease on the seals to hold them in place on the flange. Then spread the opening and slide the valve in place. You can rotate the valve to make sure it’s seated and the seals aren’t pinched. It isn’t easy, but it’s the way we do it here in the shop, a second set of hands can make all the difference.
