Bought a 2019 Cougar Half-ton 31BHKWE last October from a dealer in Oregon.
We had it shipped to our home state Minnesota and immediately placed it in winter storage. When we finally got to use it in May, it was still chilly enough that we needed to use the furnace. On the third weekendof use, the furnace (Dometic model DFMD35) went out. The furnace would try to start and shut off after 30 seconds due to not igniting. Brought it to a Keystone authorized service center in Minnesota as it was still under the factory warranty. They replaced the igniter and main circuit board.

We didn't need to use the furnace all summer until the last couple nights. It worked fine until this morning, and it's doing what it did before. Fan turns on to begin the process, shuts after after 30 seconds because of what I assume to be an ignition failure again. The furnace is very difficult to access in this model of Keystone as it's located under the rear bunkbed. There is no easy way to see the LED display that I assume is flashing a diagnostic code.

I do plan on bringing the RV in again before the factory warranty expires and I feel like they're just going to replace the igniter again, which doesn't remedy what I think is going to be an ongoing problem withut changing something. I am guessing that due to the design of this RV model and the furnace location, it may not be getting enough combustion air. I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar issue with this model furnace and what you might have done to successfully address the problem. Is it truly just a lack of combustion or return air, or is there something else that should be considered? Thank you in advance!

The first thing I would check is the air intake and exhaust for insect nests. My brother had a similar problem after wasps nested in one of them while his trailer was in storage. They do make an insect screen to cover the intake and exhaust. Good luck.
