Parasitic Draw

I've traced a 1 amp parasitic draw to the Monitor Panel (Battery, water tanks) by pulling fuses until my meter shows no excess draw. However, all of the idiot lights work correctly when the buttons are pushed. (Can't live with loosing 24 amps per day to the panel when boondocking.) Has any one else had this problem and found the culprit? Could there be a partial short in one of the wires that would create the draw but allow the panel to work correctly? Next step is to pull the panel and do further testing.

No idea what rig you have, so trying to speculate on your specific problem is difficult. I do know, that on our rig, there is a switch that controls the water heater when it is on electric. That switch operates on 12 volts and operates the solenoid at the water heater that keeps the 120 volt power going to the water heater electric element, so, whether or not the water heater is drawing power at 120 volts, that solenoid is powered to keep it closed so 120 volts is always present. I have never checked on how much power that solenoid draws. That could be one of your issues, but would not be a problem when dry camping.

I was just doing calculations around the potential power draw for my new Cougar 29RLD that is on order. I pulled the specifications on the InCommand System and found that the display panel draws 1.5 amp at 9 volts. I believe this would always be the case unles you disconnect the power going to the display panel.
