Atwood CO detector Battery life

Since new have replaced the CO detector batteries at the beginning of every season and have tossed them at the end for winter storage. This year I opted for the lithium batteries Installed in mid April and didn't even last through July. I am not sure what model it is but it takes 3AA batteries. I am sure others have this model also. How frequently do you replace the batteries? I would expect at least 6 months but it dosen't seem that way.

You may have gotten 3 bad batteries. Did they have a date code on the package?

Yes Energizer lithium 4 pack put the 4th in the clock its still ticking. 0818 stamped on batteries 20 year shelf life good til 12/2038 Just kind of expected them to last longer or the same as a regular alkaline which seem to last longer.

That is odd. I would stick with the plain old cheapies if your tossing them at the end of the season.

Yes that is why I asked the question seems like the detector is the culprit. I would like them to last April to October and not have to worry about replacing them mid season gonna be cleaning/winterizing the next 2 days and just thought I would share this experience and see if others may have had the same issue. maybe put a new one on the list for next season.

First off, my last 3 5ers the CO/LP detector was hardwired to the coach 12 volt system, no internal batteries. The smoke detector had a 9 volt battery that alarmed when the battery got weak or I burnt my toast.
How are determining the batteries are dead? Does it chirp or beep? I'm sure they are, but if installed incorrectly they won't last long.
May be time for a new detector!!

Yes it chirps, my propane detector is hardwired under the fridge. CO detector is in the bedroom opposite end of the coach. Smoke detector does the same as yours. I think installing a fan in the kitchen vent will solve the false alarms for the smoke detector. Mine goes off when the stove hood fan is on if I don't have the kitchen window cracked and roof vent open

Wow! There has to be something wrong with that detector. Our propane detector is hardwired, but the CO detector uses a 9 volt battery and easily lasts an entire year between battery changes. When our smoke detector failed a while back, I went to a big box store and purchased a ten year detector that you never replace the battery. When it starts chirping a certain way, you get a new one and replace it. We full time so we depend on these detectors year round.
