Soooooo, our beloved ducks lost a heart breaker today. Not sure if I’ll ever get to see a championship.

Years ago I was to caught up in college ball. I remember sitting in a hotel, on the coast, screaming at the TV as the ducks were battling it out with AZ state. Right then I realized that there are KIDS playing, not me. So I enjoy the games now, still get frustrated, but it’s pretty short lived. How is everyone else doing with their teams?

First off, I will state, I couldn't care less about football at any level....high school, college, or pro......but, living in Knoxville, TN, almost everyone is absolutely crazy about the TN Vols team. Well, yesterday was the opening game of the season and at home. It's been hyped for weeks and weeks.....months and they were playing a team that was basically not rated too much higher than a high school team. Oops, they lost, and at home, and to a team that was supposed to be a 20 something point underdog. It just goes to show you that on any day, at any time, things can go south. I'm dreading going back to work next week.......that's all that everyone is going to be talking about! Sheesh!

In that I went to school at Wisconsin (die-hard Badger) and live in Memphis, it was a great weekend for me. Funny to me is that Tennessee actually PAID Ga State to come to town! We are a college football family!!

I feel a kindred spirit with TN fans. We’re always SUPPOSED to be better than we are!

Virginia Tech loss to James Madison University is my sob story. VT was ranked #13 in the country and 4 touchdown favorite. Took my daughter to the game. Sat in the rain only to watch VT get spanked by a clearly better team. Rumor is that the JMU coaches inspired their team by telling them that VT was the school that didn’t want them. I love the Dukes and have many friends who went to JMU, just wasn’t rooting for them on this particular day.

We started off this season with a loss to Boston College, so expectations are running low.

And now we are on a high. 77-6 but to Nevada. Next up, poor Montana and now Stanford doesn’t look so hot and the puppies lost. USC looks tough. Wasn’t impressed by Utah, but they always play Oregon tough as does AZ state and Wazzu.
