Have a 2017 Cougar 327RLK. When we open the bedroom slideout the bed lags behind. We have to go to the foot of the bed and help it along by pushing on the bed. Have not removed the mattress and the plywood sheeting yet. Thought I would ask before open it up to see how the bed should be secured.

Sounds like the screws that hold the bed frame to the slide wall have either stripped out or the OSB/Plywood in that area has pulled loose/broken from the sidewall.

Remove the mattress, remove the OSB cover from the area where the sidewall/bed base attaches and do your inspection. I'd guess you'll find your problem there.

Do you know if it is normally secured on the wall at the head of the bed or at the floor on the section that moves?

That depends on the trailer and the way it was constructed. I know that sounds "skirting the question with a direct answer" but depending on whether there is a queen bed, a king bed, the location of slide wall studs, the bed may be secured to the studs in the wall, or if there aren't any in the correct location, secured to the slide floor and sidewalls (if the bed is wide enough to reach the sidewalls) which happens with king beds more often than queen beds.

So, the answer is, "It depends on your trailer".... About the only way to know for sure is to remove that under mattress OSB and look at how it's constructed.
