Slideout Maintenance

Whenever I close my main slideout it makes a loud vibrating sound. I did some research and thought maybe I needed to lubricate the rails, until I read the manual and it says NOT to lubricate anything related to the slideout gears. I wiped them off with a clean rag, but they do look a little rusty. What does everyone else do?

Dudette: There is a known issue with the wear bars under slideouts that can cause the slide to jerk and jump going in and out. There are two known fixes, one is to lubricate the wear bars with a special lubricant, and the other one is to install rollers . Installing the rollers is more involved, but it is the permanent solution. There are some great YT videos and one where the guy takes you through the process step by step, with links to the supplier of the rollers.
