Looking for a campground that will be easy to access Put in Bay ferry, Sandusky Catawba area? Family friendly, pool, 30 amp service at the least. Just need something for a weekend, seems to be a lot of seasonal spots in the area having a hard time finding something. And suggestions appreciated!

Can't help with the camping site, but will warn you that the Mayflies are out in full force. Google Port Clinton Mayflies

East Harbor State Park

East Harbor looks nice. But they only have like 20 electric sites out of 300 and they are all booked. If it wasnt a family outing it would be fine but I need electric that weekend.

As an example I put in 35 foot, 30 amp minimum for 3 nights starting Aug 16th and 15 sites are available. Not knowing you're length or exact dates it may be full but just saying they have limited FHU but hundreds of electric only. If that truly is full you might try Cedar Point amusement park. Its expensive but a beautiful setting with access to the park obviously.

Yeah I did filter the wrong info on my search I see that they have a lot of electric sites now that Im looking lolGlad I could help. The Lake Erie Islands should be a bucket list destination for anyone who loves water, boating, fishing, etc. Then throw in Cedar Point and It's a fantastic area.

We stayed at a KOA near Cedar Point 5-6 years ago & was the only place we've ever stopped in 10 years of fulltiming that we were afraid to go outside. Hopefully it was an isolated incident, but just after we got unhooked & settled in about 4-5 pm gunshots started nearby outside the park & lasted a while with sirens & flashing lights, we stayed low inside & left very early the next morning after scheduling 3-4 days to stay. As I said probably 1 time thing, but enough for us to never stay there again.

I live less than an hour from Sandusky and the islands and it was definitely an isolated incident. I guess there is always a sketchy part of any town but you should have been good at the KOA. The whole area is a huge vacation destination. Mostly boating, fishing, island hopping, but a lot of camping too, and of course Cedar Point. Over the years we have at different times had a boat docked in Sandusky Bay and had season tickets to Cedar Point so we have spent a lot of time there ourselves. Never had an issue once.

A reserved a spot at East Harbor, thanks for the suggestions! After researching it seems like the best rated and best location for our plans that weekend.
