Cargo capacity confusion

Attached is the sticker from my 2015 Bullet Premier 30RIPR. These are placed on my camper just as you see them in the pic. The top one says I have a carrying capacity of 496kg (1093lbs). The lower one says I have a capacity of 617kg (1360lbs). I am under both specs, but it raises the question of which one is correct? I am assuming the lower one applies to the tire capacity and the upper one to the vehicle capacity and that would supersede the tires. Any thoughts?

Do you also have a sticker on the screen door (could be on the side of it, inside or outside; typically yellow)? If so, what does it say?

On the top sticker which says the cargo capacity is 496kg, right below that it says that weight is calculated including a full fresh water tank.

As Logan stated, the water is included on the top sticker which if you add the cold water weight number is a lot closer to the bottom sticker but still not an exact match. Online specs for a 2015 30RIPR show a payload capacity of 1390 pounds which doesn't match either sticker. Otherwise, the capacity on the axles are 4400 pounds each and the ST225/75R15D tires are 2540 pounds each (new) so those aren't limiting factors. The main number you need is the 8000 pound GVWR compared to your loaded trailer GVW on the scale.

EDIT: Based on some of the other discussions lately, is it unusual to have that much reserve axle and tire capacity on a 2015 trailer? That's 5080 pounds of tires on 4400 pound axles and 8800 pounds of axles on an 8000 pound trailer.

There are major errors on that certification label. You should send Keystone a copy of that picture of the certification label and a copy of the bill of sale that identifies the year and model # of the trailer you purchased having that certification label attached to it. Ask them for a detailed explanation of the information on the certification label.

In the real world you do not weigh everything stowed in the unit, so the only practical thing to do is stop by the scale on the way out of town. You need to be under the 8,000 GVWR, trailer weight, as printed on the label. If your tanks are empty, water weighs about 8lb./gal. figure accordingly.

I weigh ours at the local Elevator. Weigh the whole rig, passengers, dogs, everything. Pull the truck off the scale, unconnect the trailer and weigh it.

Now I can compare the GVWR of the truck and the trailer with real weights. Since I am a long time patron there is never a fee, and yes there are ways to get the weights of individual axles on a single platform scale.

Thanks Frank. I've verified my weights, just wondered why the 2 differing numbers. Fully loaded my camper is just over 7600 lbs. I'm way under my combined vehicle weight and I have almost 300 lbs of load capacity left in my truck.

I don't know if it is common, but I'm glad that it is overbuilt (so to speak). I upgraded my tires to Maxxis M8008 2257515 75 15 R15 E from the OEM TrailerKings last year.

I'll check for s sticker on the screen door. Never noticed one, but I wasn't looking there for one either! lol
