Just purchased a used cougar. The water pump won’t shut off. Where is the water pump located? Thx.

If you can hear that it won't shut off, you can follow the sound to the general area of the pump. You'll find a removable panel, a drawer that comes out or a "hole in the wall" inside a cupboard that gives access to the pump. There is a pump switch on the bottom of the tank status panel. It has a light in the switch, indicating that the pump is on. Have you turned that switch off yet?

On our 27RKS, the pump is in the bottom of the cupboard/pantry that is located at the roadside rear corner of the trailer. Open the bottom pantry door, the lower half is covered by a panel that's held in place by two screws. Remove the screws, the panel lifts off and the pump is screwed to the trailer floor in that space.

You might consider that you're "lucky" the pump won't shut off. You've got the sound to "track its location". If the pump wouldn't run, you'd have no sound and it would be immensely more difficult to track the location. It might seem like a "burden" right now, but your glass is half full !!!!!

Welcome to the forum !!!!!

On our 2013 26SAB it is under the oven. Remove 2 screws and panel.

Our water pump is accessible through the rear storage, a small removable panel on the drivers side... We have 2016 284rdb Cougar 5th wheel...

Since it’s been 10 hours when the topic started, I hope you found the pump. The real issue may be why it’s running....switch’s need to be off, you could have one inside and maybe another if you have an out door shower, they both need to be off. Need to make sure your valves are set for dry camping and not city water. Of course you need water in your tank.

The water pump on my 2017 28RKS is located behind the panel in the front bay on the left side of the rig. Panel is held in place by 4 small wood screws.

Since a water pump just may be in different locations on different models you might want to put your camper info in your signature so folks with the same camper can give you some specific help. I could tell you where my water pump is but I have a 2002 Cougar 278 fiver and it just may be in a different location than your camper.

There's a good possibility that he found the pump sometime in the last 6 months.

Wonder where it was?

Well, sports fans, the OP's stats indicate: Last Activity: 06-15-2019 01:11 AM, so chances are "excellent" (actually guaranteed) that he hasn't seen any response to his question.... So, no idea if he ever found it, or if he's still "on his hands and knees, crawling around his Cougar... looking......

Or he could have subscribed and is reading the responses via email. :)Or he could be a telepath and getting "visions" of the posts! :D Maybe he's from the future and already knows! Or maybe he's an alien and is just "probing" for an answer! :hide:
Gee, this fun!
