311 BHS Fuse Panel/Reverse Polarity

Hey all. My parents have a 2011 311BHS that was bought used. When plugged into 120 it will not charge the battery. I took a look in the fuse panel and noticed one fuse blown in the reverse polarity location (battery polarity is correct).

The two fuses there are 20amp. I've noticed that when trying to search for a picture of the fuse panel that most models have two 40 amp fuses in this location. I'm thinking someone swapped them out and didn't put the correct amperage in but want to be sure.

I don't see any information on the panel about the fuse size for this location. Would anyone be able to provide a picture of their 311BHS panel or know what size these fuses should be for sure?

It's not the trailer model that matters, it's the model of the power panel. Have a look at the label on the power panel (where these fuses reside). For example, on my trailer, the model is WFCO WF-8955PEC.

On your battery cables, are you sure you have them hooked up properly? On the older trailers, the colors of the cables seemed backward. Perhaps you can say what is the color of the cable on the "+" battery terminal, and the color on the "-" battery terminal - just to make sure.

Oh ok makes sense, I will check out the power panel model next time I'm there. So I'm guessing there could be the same year and model trailer with different model panel and same model panel in different trailers as well?

The negative terminal is connected to a white wire which goes right to the chassis and the black wire is connected to the positive terminal.

It's possible the panel in your trailer was replaced, so it's best to determine the exact panel. I think they all use 40A fuses, however, so it might not matter - I just don't know for sure.

It turns out it is the same model number as yours. From what I've seen online for this model they should be 40a fuses. Is that what you have?
