Truck rides terrible towing?

Highway cracks just rattle the truck. Rides much better without trailer. I have a trail air pin box I don't know if that's part of the issue.
Anybody have issues with their truck riding worse hooked up?

Jim, keep the tires on your TV at max air pressure, same with the RV. Remember, your RV adds very, very little weight to the front of the TV. If you are feeling that initial bump coming from the highway in the front first then it just is what it is. Your TrailAir will pretty much just try to control the 'chucking' of the trailer. Also keep in mind that TrailAir only receives fair reviews as a pin box. MorRyde gets much better reviews for less money.
Whose tires are you riding on in your TV?

Is your GMC a 2500 or 3500? What's the payload? How old are your shocks? Do you have air bags? I don't think there's any way to avoid the affects of a bad road. Is your truck providing the best possible support for your trailer weight?

I run 65 psi in front and 80 psi in rear tires on my GMC Club cab 4x4 Duramax.

Fifth wheel is 34 foot Alpine. Husky 16K hitch. Airlift 5000 air lift system

Replaced stock shocks last year with Monroe RV shocks. Billstien is probably better but the ride is fine with or without fifth wheel

When empty I run 55 psi in rear tires and keep 65 psi on fronts. YMMV

Curious how long you've been towing this combo? I just saw in your profile that your truck is a 2500. I'm not the expert but at first glance it appears that your TV is a bit outmatched for the rig you're towing. GVWR on the Monty is 14,260 against what appears to be less than 11,000 capacity on your TV although payload may be adequate.

Just looking at the variables in your scenario. You're always going to feel a bad road differently when towing vs. not towing but a well balanced combo will make it better. JMHO

Yea pretty sure I'm overweight. It's 2500 air bags new Fox shocks, run 80 lbs. rear tires on truck, 95 lbs. in the trailer. Nope haven't weighed it. I'm at Morryde now scheduled for suspension & disc brakes in the AM.

Trailer rides better & stops better. Only popped out 1 sink cover coming home.
Yea it's over 21000 gross, 9800 on the truck pin is 2800.
Hooked to a friends 2014 3500 & took it for a ride it didn't ride much better.

I find it interesting how light many report their TV weight being, I never got by that light! TV weight 7,000# for 2004 2500 Dmax? You must have nothing in the TV, my 2001 Ram was 7,800# ready to tow. I also find a 2,800# pin on a 5er at or very near GVWR of 14,260 a tad light, at only about 20%, might ride better with a heaver pin, I was always in the 22% range with our 12,500# 5er, 2,700#.

On another site a hot shot hauler told me the other way, said if the pin was lighter it would ride better.:facepalm:
