Residential kitchen faucet

Was thinking about putting a nice resendential kitchen faucet with a pull out sprayer in my 2018 springdale 2980..Took a glance under the sink the other day and quickly noticed that these things areas were not made for normal size guys to work in..Got me thinking that i cut the pex rate below where the faucet supply line hook up too and then dissconnect the faucet..I could then hook up new faucet supply lines to 2 shark bites with shutoffs then feed those through the top of the countertop then all I would have to do is click them in underneath.

Well getting the fittings through the counter top hole(s) might a bit tough. Have you thought of laying some pads on the floor and working laying on your back?

Had to change my island kitchen faucet out,it was easy to do,but very difficult to work in under the cabinet.
And I am a small person only 5'3" inches tall

just about have to be a contortionist to pull the dump valves, I can't imagine trying to get under the sink to change the faucets :lol:

Mine had a dishwasher below the sink leaving only about 8" of space above it to make all the connections & only about 2' of floor space between 2 cabinets to fit my portly frame into, but I got'er done.
I told DW that if I were 3' tall with 6' long arms with 2 maybe 3 more joints & an eye I could remove to point up behind the sink to see what my hands were doing the job would've been a piece of cake.
I told her if I had to do it again I'd remove the back of the island then worry about fixing that, would be a much easier project.

I had a friend recommend long needle nose pliers with a slight curve at the end. He said it was the only way he could get to the faucet connections.

One things you could consider.

We had a sprayer, but never enough pressure to make good use of it.

Instead of a vegetable sprayer, put a residential faucet, but then use that 3rd hole for a Soap Dispenser. Worked wonders for us.

The bottle is screwed from underneath the counter - I woudl open a drawer and reach inside to refill it.

Just an idea.

Sometimes it's easier to pull the sink than install the faucet with 12" flex tubes and reinstall the sink.
Adjustable basin wrenches have also worked for years and tool companies claim their new-fangled FAUCET TOOLS (https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-EZ-Change-Faucet-Tool-56988/303528759?MERCH=REC-_-SearchPLPHorizontal1_rr-_-NA-_-303528759-_-N) will just about install it for you.
Just remember to wear the correct pants when you get under the sink so anyone watching will think you are a real plumber. :eek:

It was a real tight squeeze..just cut the pex at the old faucet supply connection point and added sharkbite shutoffs

One things you could consider.

All the soap dispensers I have seen, you pull the pump out from the top and pour down the hole to fill the bottle. Reinstall the pump.

Correct - but I am a messy kinda guy and always overfill it - the wife gets upset...

So I simply unscrew and visually fill the bottle. Works too.

I used these on the bathroom faucet replacement. Real tight space and I could do it all one handed. It was a breeze.

We basically did this same residential faucet; used pex pipe with sharkbites; and it was the best thing we ever did.

We just changed out ours today... Yes there isn't much room but after some low grumbling and a few words that won't be mentioned we are happy with our new faucet.

The nice thing about changing out those cheap plastic RV faucets is no matter how much contortion and grumbling it takes, when your done it's always very satisfying.
Ours actually had a nice residential kitchen faucet, but the bathroom one was flimsy and would squeak loudly no matter what I did. It's gone now.

Ron said it would be easier to take the sink out and attach the faucet. So if you are planning on changing the sink that would be a plus to put the faucet on first then drop the sink and attach the hoses. It's still tight but easier to install the faucet.
