So, new Keystone Cougar Half-ton. I unplugged the 7-way Trailer connector/cable from my truck and then tried to tuck it up under the propane tanks to keep it somewhat out of the weather. Sparks flew when it touched the metal frame.

Is that normal? Does the connector stay hot even when unplugged from the tow vehicle?

Also, there are a couple of connections outside of the battery box on the hitch frame that are not protected from the weather. Will that become a problem?

Thanksl

The pigtail is connected to the battery, so there is a hot lead in there. You can look up the wiring diagram to see which one it is. Best to get a cap for the connector if you want to keep it safe.
