Ceramic coating?

I was offered an aftermarket "ceramic coating" finish protectant package by my dealer. I thought it might be the Maxxguard product out of Nevada, but the literature looks private label. Does anybody have any experience with this process? Is it useful in any way, or is it just another dealer "pack?" The quote was somewhat pricey.

Seriously, it's a large color glossy postcard and it's 100% generic. It says: ceramic coating, by dealer name. There is no brand on it whatsoever.

A true ceramic will blow wax away for YEARS!!! I would do it to my own RV, but the process to put it on is time intensive. It would take a long time to do an RV properly. Professionals charge $1000-$1500 to do a car so i can only imagine what it would cost to do an RV with the good stuff. The only advantage is when the RV is new there is a lot less surface contaminates to get off before the coating goes on.

Thanks. I think DIY application is out of the question. (I'm still procrastinating about washing the bugs off from our last trip!)

I got a quote for roughly $1K from Maxxgard in Nevada, but that price includes a whole bunch of interior fabric, leather, and vinyl protection that I really don't need, money that could be spent on the quality of the ceramic job.

Do you have any recommendations for companies or systems that "do it the right way?"

I have ceramic on my truck and love it.

Buddy pulled up next to me, had same truck. Same year, same color. I said nice Truck. He said he wishes he’d gotten my color as it’s so much more glossier and had depth. Told him we had same color and it blew him away.

Best bet if your really interested in ceramic is call around and ask local detailing shops if they do it and maybe a if they have customer testimonial's.
