Hello

After turning the bypass valve to fill my hot water tank during my summerizing the pump continues to cycle. If I turn it back to bypass mode the pump cycles faster. Any suggestions? This is a new trailer having been only winterized once.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated. This is an Arctic model with insulation under the floor. Hopefully I dont have to repair a pipe. I also hear a slight hissing noise by the hot water tank when I turn the pump off. But I see no leaks.

Thanks again. Chris

Do you have water in the freshwater tank? One possible reason is if the batteries are low the pump may not turn off but continue to run at what I found is a low speed. Hope the HWT is not turned on until you have it full.

Yes the tank is full of fresh water. I've cycled one other full tank thru the plumbing system before I included the hot water tank. This problem only started after I turned bypass for HW tank.

I'm not sure I'm understanding what you are saying, but, if you've ran water thru the "system" a couple of times while "summerizing" but not included the HWH then you will have what you are experiencing. The hwh tank is empty. When you flip the bypass to fill it it's got to pump 6 gal. or more to fill the tank so it is going to run for a while. First and foremost make sure you have nothing open; faucets, shower head, outside shower, leaky pressure valve on HWH or leaky drain plug. No leaks? Make sure you turn a faucet on to let the pressure push the water out and get the air out - do it for hot and cold. Hot will take a bit while the air purges from the tank. When you have all the air out of the tank and lines the pump will just come on when you are using water.

That hissing sound never sounds good. Hopefully it's just the pressure relief valve or your drain plug. Make sure the bypass is fully open, plug and valve are good, and let the HWT fill completely. Wait for it...
