Just tried to make a reservation on recreation.gov for a local national park campground, they have added a A $22 a night electric charge per site per night. Is this new? I didn't pay that last year. That really makes it a little expensive to go camping.

Haven't really run into this new charge. Watchman CG in Zion and Gros Ventre in Teton are the only National Park Campgrounds I've used with electric hook ups. Don't recall it being an additional $20 though. Our tax dollars at work I guess:(
Just verified Watchman is $30 per night total

If that is for water and electricity, sounds reasonable. We pay $20 for no hook ups at our state parks, and $31 for water and electricity at Oregon SP.

I miss spoken, its a $11 extra a night not $22. Still works out to $311 a month. More than I pay at home.

answer is simple then, just dont stay there, plenty of other parks will want your business and not charge extra for hooking up to electrical, once they notice less reservations i am sure they will stop that extra pricing for electric. have not noticed any parks from reservation.gov for the NW doing that..
