Which RV Parks or campgrounds around Georgetown Tx do you recommend

All the parks I've stayed in around there are COE parks. Two parks at Lake Georgetown are Jim Hogg and Cedar Breaks. Both parks are distinctly different. I personally like Cedar Breaks park, the down side is it lives up to its name, it's right in the Cedars. There is no direct lake access to the lake at Cedar Breaks and it seems to be a little more compact. Jim Hogg seems to be more open and has sites directly on the water and is where the fishing crowd tends to migrate. The other COE park in the area that I've stayed is at Granger lake, Wilson Fox park I believe. I am partial to Georgetown partly because I grew up going to that lake. All three parks are nice. The only other suggestion I have is a. KOA park near Decker Lake on the ESE side of Austin. Good luck.

One word of caution, as a rule COE parks are water, electric only but, I do believe that they were working to get sewer in at Cedar Breaks.

We live a mile from Jim Hogg Park on Lake Georgetown. We've camped several times at Jim Hogg. They do have electric and water as well as a dump station for sewer. Quiet lake most of the year except for holiday weekends. The only negative I have about the lake is the boat ramp access at Jim Hogg. They let too much water out of the lake this past year and the boat ramp was extremely steep making it difficult to load and unload. Aside from that, I highly recommend it.

Georgetown is more or less part of the Austin metro area. If you mean in the general area, the State Park in Bastrop is an hour away and highly recommended. If you want to be closer to the traffic of Georgetown, go to maps.google.com and type in Georgetown and once there click the NEARBY button and type in RV PARKS. You will see quite a few. Now start doing some research to see what fits for you as a camper and a good place to start is http://www.campgroundreviews.com/ - they used to be rvparkreviews.com but changed their name. This will be a good source of other folks experiences. I would not consider the Georgetown area as I live south and would have to get there fighting traffic most any way I came up from the Hill Country.
