We want to get some clear stackable storage bins to organize stuff in the storage compartment under the bedroom in our fifth wheel. There are a number of brands -- Ziploc, Sterilite, Hefty, etc. Also, some have detachable lids that snap on and some have those attached bi-fold lids that fold over the top and interlock. Just wondering what ya'll have found to work and hold up the best.

Thanks.

We've found in our pole barn that the folding, interlocking lids don't keep out critters. They also don't keep out moths which lay eggs in woolen items and render them useless in a season....

We also found that the "snap lid" type don't seal very well and if they have vent holes, they don't protect the contents from condensation.

So, we've spent a "small fortune" on buying different types of storage containers for the pole barn. Right now, after 3 seasons of use, we've found that the plastic containers with "snap-over locking lid tabs" that don't have vent holes are the most secure against small critters and also prevent moths from getting inside.

Watch, with my luck, this spring when we pull things out of the pole barn, everything in those containers will be damaged..... Sheesh, does it ever end ??? LOL

Anyway, that's what I've found over the past few years.

This is from a post I did a couple of years ago. We bought these as they are waterproof and very durable. We have had them over two years now and they are still like new.

"As I mentioned in my earlier post, I ordered some storage boxes that fit perfectly in the rear storage of the 217exp. the dimensions are 11-3/4" x 17-1/2" x 14-5/8" h and the link to the website is https://www.containerstore.com/s/sto...uctId=11002961 (https://www.containerstore.com/s/storage/garage-storage-boxes/weathertight-totes/12d?productId=11002961).

Hope this helps other people with the small storage area. I used one for my sewage hoses one for fresh water hoses and one for misc outdoor items.

I am attaching a pic of the bin.

How much does the tray itself weigh?
