Hello! A few months back my wife and I traded in our first travel trailer, after only a couple of years, for a new 2018 Cougar 33MLS. And I just traded in my 2015 RAM 2500 Cummins for a 2019 RAM 2500 6.4 Hemi last month. I’m still in the breaking in period and I’ve only towed with it once so far. We’ve tent camped and backpacked for twenty five years and decided to change it up a bit when we became empty nesters. We try to go somewhere at least every other month even if it’s close by. Excellent therapy!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new rig!! My trailer is about the same weight as yours and the 6.4 w/3.73 does a good job for us - hopefully yours will as well. Lots of good folks and info here so pull up a chair.:)

Welcome. Congrats on your new 2019 RAM. I just seen the new 'late 2019' RAMs at the Detroit Auto Show. Very much a 1500 carryover in looks and feel. The column shifter is now gone in replace of the 'knob'. I own a 2017 6.4L Laramie in the Megacab configuration. It's been trouble free since ownership. I am very intrigued in the new ZF 8 speed transmission as the 66RFE replacement. That 1st to 2nd shift is the biggest complaint with the current tranny. Hopefully, the new 8 speed will resolve that.

The new interiors are very nice and class leading. With that comes a big price tag though. FCA didn't share that or payload numbers at the show, unfortunately. Ford and GM had well optioned 3/4 ton trucks approaching 80K. So, RAM will probably follow suit.

Again, welcome and enjoy that new RAM.
