Underbelly covering

I want to ask if anyone has used plywood to cover the underbelly of 5th wheel?
I was thinking of doing this but I got to thinking if it would stay in place while underway!

My bigger thought would be what are you going to do to keep it from rotting?

I can think of two problems you'll face right off the bat:

1. Plywood is far too heavy to use and once it gets wet, even heavier.
2. Plywood is not waterproof, once it gets wet, it will start to rot/deteriorate. Even marine plywood is not "completely resistant to the damaging effects of water".

Coroplast is a corrugated plastic sheeting that is lightweight, not affected by water and much more durable as an undercover than wood.

Another product, DARCO, is a plasticized fiber sheeting (think blue plastic tarp) that would also provide a suitable underbelly covering. In fact, it is used by many (probably most) RV manufacturers to line the wheelwells in towable RV's.

Coroplast is your best option, easy to work with and durable, I used 4'X8' sheet and cut to fit. I had to work around inboard mounted shocks, but with using heavy gauge steel building studs it worked out well.
