Well, it snowed today in Missouri (Rhymes with Misssery [emoji1787]). Driving across state with my wife to visit my son, DIL, and grand kids.

When we get settled, I'm going out on the porch and going to enjoy a good cigar. Made me wonder what others favorite time wasters were?

Posting snarky, inappropriate and condescending replies on forums

But seriously, I have a few games on my phone and iPad that keep me amused.

Time wasters?? At his point? I just don't have time for "time wasters". By the time I do all my required exercises (not time wasters); cooking, napping, eating, sight seeing, kicking back, taking pictures, taking puppy for her daily walks and sitting at the lake.....I guess I just don't have time for any "time wasters".:lol:

Don't know if this could be called a time waster. We drive 3 hrs round trip to the nearest Walmart so I can push the buggy while DW fills it up. I guess I put some stuff in there too. But on the bright side it does keep the pension cheques from piling up so maybe not a time waster.:D

Whenever I get a day off I usually waste it on a fishing forum or Ancestry.com.
Then about 6pm I get all jittery from doing nothing. Then I have to make a decision...wine or whiskey to call my nerves. LOL
It's a lose lose deal.
I have found if I take a B12 vitamin in the morning I WILL do something.
Oh yeah Joe^^^Walmart is about 6 minutes away. I go there about 5 times a week and look at their fishing lures, buy a couple, get home and realize I already have 5 of them.

Brent 6 minutes would be fatal in this household. When we go south in the winter it's hard to get a place without a Walmart nearby. Harbour Freight well that's OK.

As time has passed I've found sometimes I feel a little lethargic as well. This is not a plug or advertisement but rather just something I'm throwing out in case anyone might want a little pick me up.

Due to feeling a little "unmotivated" for a while I was doing some research and came across a product called Dr. Gundy's Vital Reds I believe. Now, I've never ordered any kind of product like that but figured I'd give it a whirl. Much to my surprise I felt much better and didn't think I needed a nap every day. It seemed to make a positive difference for me but I would not be making this post if it wasn't for the responses from my daughter and son in law. They are both professionals in Tallahassee and were just worn down. He had had a reaction to an MRI drug and thought he was going to die. They got a small order of the stuff and tried it. In a week they called me and told me how wonderful it was. My daughter ordered $500 worth for starters (it doesn't cost near that much). After taking it a month my son in law came to me, put his hand on my shoulder and shook my hand saying "thank you so much; you saved my life". I was speechless.

Again, this is not an ad and I am certainly not a proponent of folks getting on a forum and advertising junk. Brent's comment made me think, and since we have quite a few folks that might be getting to a point where a natural way to feel better might be beneficial, I am making the post. It may or may not work for everyone. It did for me, my wife, daughter and son in law; the only ones I know that used it. Moderators, if this is out of line or not appropriate please delete and let me know. Now back to cabin fever and time killers...…..

When I have some spare time, I start planning the next trip. Where to go, what to do? It's a big country with lots to see and experience.

Next year, we are heading from Dallas (where our rig is stored) up to PA via the Smoky mtns, back through IN, OH and MI and over the top of the lakes back to WI for Oshkosh, then wander back to Dallas to store the rig. Any suggestions for parks, attractions etc in those general areas would be most welcome.

Time killer? I take the DW to the store. I wait in the truck and fire up a cigar and start reading (usually a book on historical events) and listen to some music.

You only have cabin fever if you stay in the cabin.
Ski and Snowsports Instructor December through April.
On the snow 6 hours a day, 5 days a week.
You gotta be quick or old man time will catch you:D

sourdough, Rare for me to do but I watched the complete (online) video presentation from Dr. Gundy's Vital Reds. Honestly, it was an impressive theory but I thought it was like any other "snake oil" product. Your testimonials sounds honest and may give me incentive to take a second look. And for the record I did not find your post to be a product endorsement.

FlyingAroundRV, We recently traveled from Maine to Ohio. Stayed in a very nice state campground near Geneva OH. On Lake Erie with full hook ups, bike trails and if the weather is right (like is was for us), a beautiful beach. Also on another trip we took with my TT we went to the UP (Upper Peninsula) in MI. Stayed at the Little River Casino Campground in Manistee . The park had large sites, full hook ups and access to some amenities including a very large indoor hot tub with a cascading waterfall. I guess other campers were not aware of the access, but no on was ever in the tub when we went to use it. And of course the casino has the tables, buffet and entertainment available as well.

flybouy, A cigar in the TV cab. Man I'm jealous. My cigars are only allowed in bordering counties. :)

Canonman, Love the quip. So true. The only thing I have found that I do not need to be quick with is my golf swing. A work in progress.

Oh yeah, the original thread. Don't have much cabin fever where I live, but on the really cold days I tinker around in the garage and beat on something in the vise to get frustration out or kick around in the studio on the guitars and keyboard.

Thanks,
RMc

I've got my own "personal sandbox" out back. During the summer, when I need to "de-stress" I take the tractor to my sandbox and move a mound of sand from one side to the other.... In the winter, snow covers the sand, and in these parts, often up to 5 or 6 feet deep.....

So, during the winter, when I can't get the pole barn door open (frozen to the ground) I take the tractor to my "sandbox" and push the snow off my sand, use the front bucket to make a big pile, then push the snow back and try to smooth things out so it looks "like I wasn't there"... I usually wind up "relocating snow" from the driveway to the sandbox to keep the supply of new stuff available......

Oh, and I plan to add a new activity this winter, taking the cover off the Slingshot, making sure there's no dust accumulating on the seats, replacing the Fresh Cab and reinstalling the cover......

Usually, by then, I'm cold enough to head inside, warm up and watch the weather report to see if I'll have more "new snow" to add to the sandbox tomorrow......

Such an exciting "winter life" :whistling:

Time wasters? A good book, binge on a TV series, watch movies, oh...and of course shopping!

Taking time to work on my model railroad stuff again. It's amazing how addicting camping has been though. Looking forward to spring.

Dream about a new truck and trailer, then realize - NOPE not enough funds. Then start planning what camping trips we are taking next year. Not a snow girl living in the "Winter Wonderland of Michigan" with snow for the third time in the past week. If it actually stayed for more than a day or two we would have had over 6 inches already. So not ready for this - to early for my Cabin Fever to start.

I bought an old tire shop about five years ago and re-did the front half, about 30'x30'. I keep the office and two small rooms heated. I go to the shop usually every week day when I'm not working for a big farm. Between cleaning up, reloading ammunition, researching on the 'net, visiting with a couple of old friends, I usually can pee away the day.

I haven't been "bored" for a total of an hour in my life (71), and if it doesn't appear that I'm doing much physically, I'm usually just happy with my thoughts! ;) When we go touring with the camper, I usually spend my evenings researching guns and diesel locomotives on the 'net. I listen to a chapter or two from an audio book on my phone pretty much every night, no matter where I am. I also like to read books. Never a dull moment around with my DW.

Now that it's legal up here, I'm experimenting with different strains of cannabis. Talk about a time waster. It does motivate me to do something, what I don't know :)

I like to plan the next camping trip or the next upgrade or maintenance I’m go to do to my trailer. And there is always something to do at the house of course. In Southern California the winter is pretty mild. If I have time to sit around, I like to watch tv. YouTube has been my recent choice.
