Hello all! I have a new 27 SAB Cougar and after 2 months the outside LED strip lighting under the awning no longer comes on. Do these things burn out or short out due to rain? Yes I have already checked the fuse and it is good. Anyone else have experience with these?

They do fail. Do you have a remote system controlling them or just a switch?
If just a switch check power to and from switch could be a simple switch .

My under the awning lights quit after a couple of months........talked to Lippert who supplied the awning and light strip. Said a new light strip was 177.00 bucks....looked on Amazon....bought a new strip almost exactly the same for 9.99.

For $10 hope you bought a couple spares! From reading this & a couple other forums about these LEDS , you'll be replacing them again sooner than later.

I didn’t have them originally on my 2010 Cougar Xlite and bought everything I needed on Amazon for about $70 to have a color changing LED strip with remote control. Been on for two years now without an issue and it was a pretty simple install.

I installed the cheap $10 one that I get about 3 years before replacing. For the cost, I calculate I can replace it every six months and still be ahead.

I put a set on the end of my awning that got rolled up with the awning, these ones would fail due to water even though they were IP67 rated. I now install them on the side of the trailer just under the awning and have yet to lose this strip after several years.

In my install I purchased the track the lights go in that puts them at a 45 degree angle to produce better light under the awning.

My led strip on my 2015 Keystone Laredo went out 30 days after we got it. Was told it would cost $250.00 to replace the strip. Went on line and got some much "warmer" lighted ones for $17.00 and installed those. Very nice and they still work great.
