Just wondering if anyone on here has added a hitch to the rear of their trailers. Not a bumper hitch but a frame mounted hitch. Which hitch did you use? Did you have to modify anything else for install?

Thanks!

I did as it's this safe to transport bicycles and other light cargo.

This is the one I used:

I’ve added a hitch to the rear of every 5er I’ve owned and pulled boats and cargo trailers with it as well as used it for receiver hitch accessories such as cargo trays and bike racks. Many companies make good hitches, the main thing you need to do is measure the width between the frame rails (center to center) and get a hitch that matches. Mine is welded and. bolted to the frame with grade 8 bolts. Keep in mind, Lippert will tell you the frame is not designed for this and adding a hitch “could” void your frame warranty, but I believe you’re trailer is a 2015 so you don’t have any frame warranty anyway.

Even if you did have warranty, don't tell them you added it, doubt that anyone there would know the difference.
