I just wanted to post something I tried that worked really well. We use our 5th wheel for family camping and to go to some races with friends. I notice the camper has more "shake" to it than I would like, once set up. I especially notice it at night or early in the morning when I am laying down and other people are moving about. Solution that worked surprisingly well is 2 2x4's, 2 ratchet straps and some eye bolts. I tried it since it was a cheap gamble and can't believe how stable it has become. Great cheap solution, and a conversation piece as well. Happy camping

Looks similar to some aluminum ones I’ve seen for sale. Good on you for coming up with an easy inexpensive fix.

What you've created is a "home-made version" of a commercial design that's been around for several years. If your version works for you, it's the "19th update" to the first model...

A word of caution about placing your fifth wheel jacks on blocks: BE VERY CAREFUL about backing up during hitching. It's extremely easy to bump the kingpin and potentially knock the landing gear off those blocks (don't ask me how I know). If those are 6" blocks and you've got 5" of clearance between the truck bedrails and the bottom of the trailer overhang, well, something is going to lose 1".... That could easily end up costing much MUCH more than the price of buying a commercial stabilizer system and leaving the landing gear on "terra firma"..... :censored:
