Hi group, I have a 2017 Sprinter 298FWRLS. I would like to put a 120 volt ceiling fan in the living room. A service tech said to pull the A/C cover down and tap into the 120 there. Has anybody tried doing this? I would like any help if anyone has put a ceiling fan in a fifth wheel that did not have one.

The biggest problem is location of the fan. It has to be positioned to clear any slides and still be in a place that's centered (or close to center) side to side while being located so that there is a substantial rafter/beam on which to mount the fan.

If you can locate a position for the fan that meets all of that AND can fish a tap from the air conditioner power box, then it only draws about 1 amp and shouldn't overload the air conditioner circuit breaker or wiring.

Depending on where you want to mount the fan versus where you have to mount the fan, you may find a position that works well. Just be sure that with the slides in the travel position, if the fan should "swing during towing" that it still clears the slide fascia.
