Just purchased a 2014 Bullet 31BHPR and put the rear bunkhouse slide out for the first time tonight. Wasn’t sliding properly and checked it out to find this! Anybody have experience making this repair? Swapping out the wood brace seems easy enough but anything I need to know about re-mounting the pulley mechanism? Thanks in advance :)

You're likely not the original owner, so there is no warranty, but any recall action would still be covered for all owners, regardless of warranty status.

There was (is) a recall on a number of 2015 Keystone trailers with NORCO slide mechanisms. Your trailer is not included in the original recall, but there may be some "end runs" that would include your trailer. Even if it is not yet currently included, the problem should be reported to Keystone and NHTSA. That way, if there's any significant number of failures, you may find that yours is included in the recall which would make you eligible for reimbursement of repair expenses.

You can review all recalls here: https://www.keystonerv.com/owners/recalls/

and the NORCO recall here: https://www.keystonerv.com/media/2123/15-225_-norco_cable_bracket_-_web.pdf

Our 2015 23RB pulley mounts were not very secure to the wall. I speculate that there was insufficient metal in the wall to adequately support the pulley bracket. As soon as I was out of warranty and before a failure, I did this mod:

The aluminum plate bridges the tubing along the bottom of the ceiling / top of the wall and the tubing around the slide opening. I also went to 1/4" thk aluminum instead of 3/8" thick plywood used during manufacture to have the cables better aligned with the pulleys. The same could be done using a plank of hardwood instead of aluminum. Just make the plank tall and wide enough to be able to spread and apply the load where there is tubing in the wall.

BTW: Our TT was not on the recall list.
