We have a 2017 outback 332fk and sometimes the regular a/c unit will not cool down to where we want it. My dealer said that keystone has a small a/c unit that installs in the bedroom vent. Has anyone ever seen one of these units?

I am assuming that you are referring to the roof vent, and yes, they make all kinds of ACs to go up there. At almost 38' I imagine you do need the 2nd AC. Mine is about the same size and I had a Dometic Penguin II low profile added. Some like a low profile up front (like we did) and some like one that looks like the existing one. Lots of folks have them and they are worth the money if you stay in warmer weather.

We have an Outback 330RL, live in the San Diego area. I thought the "upgraded" ducted 15k AC unit would be adequate for our trailer...it wasn't, we added a Coleman Mach Energy Saver 13.5k unit to the bedroom (the 15k unit is also a Coleman Mach). As already stated, the second AC will replace the vent in the bedroom. With the second AC the trailer cools down quickly and maintains a comfortable temperature with no problem.

In our case, the second AC is not connected to the thermostat, it has individual controls on the unit itself. We are stationary full timers so we do watch TV in the bedroom, the bedroom unit is LOUD.

Your 332FK is essentially the same chassis as my 330RL just a different floor plan.

I had our 2nd AC installed by CW. I think I paid $8-900 out the door....worth every penny.

As we are stationary full timers I had a mobil RV service install ours. Roughly $1000 installed, took them about 1.5 hours to do the job.

We also installed a coleman-mach 13.5 in our outback. I did it myself with a help from neighbor. Here is southern Alabama we stay very cool and it is very noisy in the bedroom.

Just picked up my Mach 3 13500 btu for the bedroom in my 2018 325 bh. Sorry for thread high jack. But while I have a few people on the line who did it themselves. What was the easiest way to get old butte tape and dicor off around vent with damage to roof membrane?

I just had my 2nd bedroom AC with the knob controls switched to wall mounted thermostat....they way it should have come from the factory.

Mind if I ask how you did that?

Had dealership replace the Coleman AC Knobs (pun) cover to flat cover that is identical to the Rear Living AC and add a thermostat to the wall.
The whole trailer is plumbed for the main 1 unit....so the bedroom AC now can be controlled by the T and not reaching up to turn it on & off?! (pain in the as*, not to mention not very efficient).
Now the trailer is complete!....ohh wait, after the washer & dryer-lol.
PS....parts were cheap, it's the labor!

They are independent of each other which is fine with me.

When we bought our first 5th wheel camper they said it is ready to add a a/c unit in the master bedroom so we had it installed before we picked it up it was a great choice the 1st unit was installed in the bunk room in the back it wouldn’t cool the camper until we turned on the 2nd unit then it cooled it down glad we had it installed
